Letter Update From Wade
Our team recently received an update from Wade, and we wanted to share the main points so everyone has a clear understanding of his current situation.
Although Wade was removed from disciplinary confinement status on May 18, he explained that he is still housed in the same solitary confinement setting he has been in since arriving at the prison. He remains in his cell 24 hours a day and has not been moved into a regular housing block. The main difference now is that he can purchase food items through commissary again, he has his television back in his cell, and he is allowed to use the telephone once a month.
This is important to clarify because being “off confinement” does not mean his living conditions have fully changed. According to Wade, his confinement status changed, but his physical housing situation has stayed the same. Wade also shared that because of the attention surrounding him and the issues he has experienced inside the prison, he does not believe it would be wise for him to be placed into a general population block without the situation being carefully reviewed first. He stated that this is something his attorneys would need to review and address specifically for his circumstances.
Wade also mentioned that his prisoner rights attorney, Ms. Elizabeth Buchanan, was expected to file a motion regarding his inmate tablet access. According to Wade’s letter, he was told a ruling could take up to one year, though it may also be decided sooner.
At this time, we are sharing this as an update from Wade’s letter. We are not presenting it as a confirmed public court filing until there is something official and publicly available to reference. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not speculate or speak on behalf of his attorney. If there is a confirmed update that can be shared publicly, we will let everyone know.
For anyone wondering about the barcode on the envelope, this letter was processed through a virtual mailbox service before it was received. Virtual mailbox services assign each envelope its own barcode for internal tracking, scanning, and mail management. It is a normal part of that process and does not mean anything suspicious.

Visitation Status Update
We wanted to share an update after receiving official documentation regarding Wade's visitation status.
The documents confirm that Wade's visitation suspension has been extended for another year. It was originally scheduled to end in 2027, but the new end date is now May 19, 2028.
According to the documentation, the extension is related to a past disciplinary report involving drug use. Wade has challenged the decision and believes the suspension should be reconsidered.
What does this mean?
While the suspension remains in effect:
Wade is not permitted to have in-person visitation, other than approved attorney and pastoral visits.
Wade is not permitted to have video visitation.
The suspension applies even to those already approved on Wade's visitation list. Approved individuals may still send commissary funds, but in-person and video visitation remain suspended.
Wade's Grievance
In his grievance, Wade explains why he believes the visitation suspension should be reconsidered. Among the points he raises are:
He was not given timely notice. Wade states that he was not informed of the visitation suspension until after he had already completed the disciplinary sanctions related to the report.
He believes the suspension amounts to additional punishment. Wade argues that he had already served the sanctions connected to the disciplinary report and believes extending the visitation suspension punishes him a second time for the same incident.
The disciplinary report was not related to visitation. Wade states that the incident did not involve visitation, a visitor, or misuse of visitation privileges. He questions why visitation was suspended for a disciplinary issue unrelated to visits.
At this time, the visitation suspension remains in effect through May 19, 2028, unless the decision is changed.

A Recent Letter From Wade
Wade wrote this letter on July 27, 2026, during the middle of Florida’s extreme summer heat. Florida summers are already intense, but inside a prison, with limited airflow and very few ways to cool down, the heat can become even harder to manage. Small desk fans only provide so much relief, and something as simple as taking a cold shower can be one of the only chances to cool off.
In the letter, Wade gives a small glimpse into what those conditions have been like for him. He describes the constant sweating, the lack of relief from the heat, and how he has been trying to get through it one day at a time. These details may seem simple, but they show how exhausting daily life can become when there is no real escape from the temperature.
He also says that things are about as well as can be expected. Even in those conditions, Wade is still trying to take each day as it comes and make the best of what he has. This letter gives an honest glimpse into what life has been like for him lately, especially during the extreme Florida heat, and how he is managing the conditions one day at a time.

Weekly Commissary Goal
Beginning August 15, 2026, our weekly commissary goal for Wade is $150.
The Florida Department of Corrections allows inmates to make canteen purchases each week, giving Wade access to permitted food items, hygiene products, writing supplies, and other everyday items available through the facility.
The tracker on this page will be updated throughout the week as donations come in so supporters can see where we are in relation to the weekly goal.
This Week
August 15 – August 21, 2026
Weekly Goal: $150
Every contribution toward commissary goes toward Wade. Whether it is $5, $10, $25, or more, it all adds up toward reaching that week's goal.
There is never any expectation that anyone donate. Sharing Wade's story, writing to him, following his case, and simply being here are all ways of showing support.
For those who do choose to contribute, we want you to be able to see the progress along the way. The tracker will be updated as the week goes on, whether the goal has just started, is getting close, or has been reached.
New weekly goal begins every Saturday.
